The Power of a Smile

Smile.  When you are out in the world. When you look someone on the eye. When you glimpse yourself in a mirror.  Smile. Your smile is an indicator of your love.  Your light.  Your general awesomeness. And every time you flash it, you share all of that. And more. You connect.  In an instant. With yourself. With the person you are smiling at. With the whole darn world.

I make a choice when I am out and about (or in and chillin’) to find the authentic smiley place inside of me.  And let that sucker cross across my face. It feels good to do.  It feels empowering to know that I can so easily choose into this beautiful and gentle power.  Not to mention it other people seem to love it!

I get comments all of the time…”You always have a smile on your face” or “You always so happy.”  The person who says this suddenly has a smile too.  They tapped into their own happy place…all because of a slight upward turn of the lips.  That is pretty damn awesome.

My intention is for my smile to be authentic. I’m not trying to pretend away feelings that are too uncomfortable to feel. If I can’t touch that genuine energy inside of me that makes me happy, then so be it.  But often, no matter what is going on, I can find the love. The joy.  The beautiful state of happy.  It makes a difference in my life. And it just might make a difference in yours.
